About Me

David Fatheree, LAC, SAP is a Louisiana Licensed Addiction Counselor specializing in individual, couples and family therapy for Adults and Adolescents with substance abuse related issues. He also is DOT qualified and conducts return to work evaluations for DOT and Non-DOT employees.  He has lived in Acadiana for over fifty years and maintains a private practice in Lafayette, LA.

With over almost 30 years years experience as a addiction therapist, and as a graduate of USL (Now ULL) specializing in behavioral therapy, he is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients.  David has worked with several differant modalities in the addiction field, including Inpaitent, Residential, Halfway House, and Intensive Outpatient Programs as a primary counselor, program director and administrator.

In addition to being a prominent addiction therapist, David has presented at National conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of Substance Abuse and PTSD for Active Duty Military and Veterans.

David Fatheree utilizes a Rational Cognitive Approach, solution-focused therapist. His cognitive therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients "Get Better instead of Feeling Better" as he integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, he works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
